NOTE TAKING:

  • Earth is home to many, many different species of plants and animals.
  • The natural world and to look for ways to protect and conserve it.
  • We are cutting down too many trees, clearing too much ground, and building so many roads.

SUMMARY: Their aim is to raise awareness of the beauty and the importance of our natural world and to look for ways to protect and conserve it. They decided to call it World Wildlife Day and chose 3 March as the date to celebrate it.
We depend on all the elements of the biosphere for all our basic needs: the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the energy and materials we use to make the things we need to live our lives.
Sadly, many human activities such as mining, farming, and construction are constantly putting wildlife in danger.
We need to live more sustainable lives and to learn to respect nature and defend its diversity.

PERSONAL REFLECTION: The main problem facing wildlife in my region is that of human activities. My aids come in form of joining the moves for raising awareness on conservation and protection of wildlife. We need to live more sustainable lives and to learn to respect nature and defend its diversity. We need to push our governments to conserve and protect the natural habitats of all the species that are in danger of becoming extinct. We all need to work together to protect our planet – and ourselves.

  •  Our climate is breaking down.
  •  Nature is a tool we can use to repair our broken climate.
  • We spend one thousand times more on global fossil fuel subsidies than on natural-based solutions.
  • Nature is a tool we can use to repair our broken climate.
  • We're destroying it faster than ever.
  • Nature can regenerate and we can help ecosystems bounce back.
  • We need to stop funding things that destroy nature.
  • We need to protect, restore and fund.

Summary:

Climate, activities Greta Thunberg and George Monbiot tell us how we should use nature to tackle the climate crisis.
Our climate is breaking down.
Children are giving up their education to protest. Nature is a tool we can use to repair our broken climate.
Natural climate solutions could make a massive difference.
200 species are going extinct every single day.
Most of our wild animals have gone.

In my opinion, we should protect our nature, we should vote for people who defend nature.
we need to stop funding things that destroy nature and pay for things that help.

Hundreds of fish species, including many that humans eat, are consuming plastic

 TAKING NOTES:

  • Trillions of barely visible pieces of plastic floating in the world’s oceans
  • Researchers concerned about microplastics minuscule
  • Findings of fish consuming plastic are on the rise
  • Detection methods for microplastics are improving
  • Ocean plastic pollution continues to increase.
  • Solving the plastics puzzle

  • A global problem

  • Risk factors

  • Effects of a plastic diet

Summary: Researchers are concerned about microplastics.
Findings of fish consuming plastic are on the rise.
Detection methods for microplastics are improving and because ocean plastic pollution continues to increase. The problem came from the stomach of a seabird in 1969
Many fish were eating plastic, this problem in 555 fish species worldwide.
Studies that we're able to detect this previously invisible threat revealed that plastic ingestion was higher than we had originally anticipated.

Personal Reflection: People are the most cautious about plastic pollution. Scientific techniques for detecting microplastics have improved substantially in the past five years. Many of the earlier studies may not have found microplastics because researchers couldn’t see them.
fish are actually consuming more plastic over time as ocean plastic pollution increases globally.
